Occupy Hollywood: High-Paid Stars

Should we Occupy Hollywood?

Throughout the country, citizens are taking part in the Occupy Wall Street movement, demanding "an end to corporate greed and a more equitable share of the pie for the middle class". But celebrities continue making an obscene amount of money for just basically being themselves. Now, I'm not saying that celebrities don't have actual talent. Most of them do, save for the stars of the modern day "reality" shows.

For example, Kim Kardashian. Rumor has it that she makes over $10,000 for a single tweet. That's the sort of thing that bothers me. It takes the average American a lot of time and effort to make $10,000, and Kim Kardashian can make that much for a tweet? I have a problem with that. Especially since none of the Kardashian sisters have ever done anything so great that they deserve to be in the spotlight, anyway. So what do you guys think? Should we Occupy Hollywood? No, not by setting up tents and camping out there. But by refraining from buying from a certain line of clothing just because a well known celebrity endorses it. By not investing in the same kind of snacks Snooki or Kim Kardashian rant about all the time. And even by tweeting them and asking if they think they deserve what they make. Mission Occupy Hollywood? Ready, and go.

  1. I would agree--some of these "stars" don't deserve the title. People like those on Jersey Shore or the Kardashians are just being bad influences, and they get paid for this? What are they being paid for, influencing teenagers to be bad people? Influencing adults to be bad people? And I agree again, occupying Hollywood wouldn't really help--too many people who actually work for their well-paid status would be affected. Let's boycott those who shouldn't deserve it, shall we?

  2. Modern society sickens me because we're nothing but pop-culture-vultures. I haven't been around for long so this is all I've ever known, and it's crap. Yeah, didn't our country just HIGHER the national debt?! Psh,let's just continue to shower these Hollywood hooligans for tweeting and getting out of rehab or having eight or fourty-three kids. What irritates me is how celebrities donate "to a cause". What does their investment in the cause result in? easily 343475 times the amount they donated in profit from vultures.
