Usually when pop icons such as Ke$ha attempt to sing covers of songs like Bob Dylan's "Don't Think Twice, It's Alright", they end up becomming the laughing stock of the media. Well amazingly, that isn't the case this time around. Ke$ha did Dylan justice in my opinion with her airy, emotional, and actually un-autotuned redition of the hit song.
Most people seem to be unwilling to accept the fact that Ke$ha may actually have talent, due to how she portrays herself and the image she gives the media throughout her music and attire. That image is one of the typical "party girl" (booze, boys, gettin' messy, and tons of glitter). So yeah, I understand why people are cautious to change their opinion of this girl who likes to "run this town just like a club". Upon doing a little research on her, I found some orginal songs (before she discovered autotune) that I actually do enjoy. The two favorites I stumbled upon are "Goodbye" and "I'm The One", which both highlight the fact that she really does have an impressive voice. "Goodbye" is a heartfelt slow song about how distance really can play a part on two lovers, while "I'm The One" is more of a country song with a beautiful Taylor Swift-esque feel to it. Personally, I'm really glad this cover of "Don't Think Twice, It's Alright" came out. Maybe it will change the way society views this newer pop icon. Then again, maybe not... Ke$ha's just going to keep us guessing as to who she really is, I suppose.

When I first saw this post, I thought it was going to be how Ke$ha continues to be a drunken mess on the music scene. Ke$ha does something that isn't autotune? She has a good voice? ...Who would've known? I personally think she should release more songs with her OWN voice. Maybe she'll realize one day if she does that, she'll actually be respected for talent rather than careless, trashy party goer.
